It was meant to be a day out taking botanical pictures around Salisbury Cathedral but I just could not help myself but play with the mirrors and patterns.
I am convinced there is a better picture to be had of this hurricane lamp, but as yet this is my best effort!
Night time long exposure always fun, if a little cold!
I seem to have found a fascination with the flowers, living and dead in the local graveyard. I also always love the life that is so abundant in a place we all associate with death.
I know, its a bit bright, but I was just pleased to get the duck in focus and sharp while the background is blurred!
OK this was a day out on an organised photography course at Salisbury Cathedral, learnt absolutely loads and looking forward to going back for another day there in 2 weeks time.
He looked fabulous sitting quietly on the wall, became a bit more of a pain when he landed on my foot and refused to get off! Still he posed well!
For quite sometime this was known simply as "That Bird Pic" I think a combination of pure fluke and a little skill produced the luckiest timed shot ever. Thanks Dad for spending the hour standing around that pond with me indulging our passion!
I have a Canon EOS 450D SLR, Sigma 55-200mm lens, a Canon 70-300mm , Canon 50mm F1.8 and a Manfrotto tripod. I don't have Photoshop so what you see is what was taken, barring a small crop or contrast adjustment.
I got a Canon for Christmas 2008 and have not stopped clicking since, best present I ever got, get out for a walk most evenings. The camera gives me a reason to be out, and also helps me look at the world a little differently and usually a little more closely.
